Waiting for a Sign

I'm so tired of sitting,
   waiting...
Searching for any kind of sign
  with great big flashing neon lights
"GO HERE!!!"

I'm waiting for the Finger of God
to point my direction
I'd rather cower in the same place
  than take that dreaded leap of faith

I'm terrified
of what I think is right

I'd rather cower here alone
than make a sudden move
afraid to stimulate something other than myself
    even for my own good

I'm tired of sitting,
  waiting...
Searching for elusive signs
  with great big flashing neon lights

I'm tired of waiting on the Finger of God
to point my direction

But I'm too terrified
of what I think is right
Too scared not to cower in the same old place
  and take that dreaded leap of faith
